Was not at last nights game vs Waterloo, but tonight was fun to watch, we came out, played hockey and hit some one!!!! PP is still lacking, and at times we
seemed lethargic, but for the most part nice to see the team rebound from what I wa told was a lacluster performance against Waterloo. For the (fan).....
sitting in front of me if I want to remind our team who is on the power play...... WIMHO we need to do, do not get mad,because I am picking on the HIGH SCHOOL
kids, they are only kids...... as we have discussed on this board before.... we are at a new level of hockey. And for that matter, this is HOCKEY!!!!!! I had
friends from Lincoln here tonight, they were amazed at the fact we handed them their %$#%$ to them and our crowd was sitting on their hands, politely watching.
If this had happened in Lincoln it would have been bedlam..... Time for Stampede fans to step it up.( Never heard that said here before!!!!!)
Nice job guys...... lets build from here!!!!!!!

Max Grover is not "from" Sioux Falls & if he is, then stop saying Matt Farris is from Pierre. If you want to continue saying Grover is "from" Sioux Falls, then start announcing everyone's birthplace instead of where they grew up & are actually "from". I know, it's a marketing thing aimed toward the fans too ignorant to really know that he developed his hockey ability in Michigan & darnit it sure sounds good to say a hometown boy made good, but it makes the organization look desperate for good press. Last bit of this rant... I think Tasers need to be handed out to those seated on the aisle near the entrances to the seating area. That way we can Tase all of those first time fans & those too inconsiderate to wait for a stoppage in play. I'm pretty sure that would be an effective training method with very few repeat students... |

To me, if you really want to be rude--completely ignore the visiting team by mumbling their names when no fans are present and the players are off ice. Just
how rude is that? In response one of the owners said, "All the teams are doing that". Hummm, interesting. Isn't that what spoilt kids say,
Everyone is doing that? Well, they aren't. When I was in Des Moine and Sioux City our players were announced properly. INMO if you are good enough to
play in the USHL you are good enough to be announced correctly and should be.
Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who HUSTLE.

Or.. To do the "Over, it aint over till we say it is" thing when we already have the game well in hand. Was the sound guy trying to pump up the Stars?!?!?! "Maybe if people start throwing out a "Who cares" when they announce the referee & linesmen then the silly hometown stuff will end too." haha.. I still wait for them to announce the other team. Just seems like such a routine when going to a hockey game, that I actually miss it. One last thing- DONT start the music when a you suck chant is going!

Great to see the guys come out and play well. I think the lack of consistency is the biggest problem this team faces. Hopefully we can work on that down the
stretch towards the playoffs.

Here's another idea:
Get rid of the "tunnel" for starting line-ups and do like the Gophers do. Have both teams on the red line and each starter skate to the blue line as they are announced. When done with the team, everyone else from the team skates to the blue line and stand at attention while the National Anthem is being sung. There are so many things this year that have made me shake my head at the orginization. It is truely a time for shake up. If it gets any worse, the visiting team is going have personal massuesse's in their locker room. |
