Someone mentioned to me they'd rather have a phpbb board than Yuku & Yuku is not real great, I found a place I can set up another phpbb board that has free hosting & has the newest versions of phpbb.

Before we get too far involved in staying here (and because there doesn't seem to be much activity yet), what are your thoughts?

What do you want to do with/for a forum? phpbb is better for sure but I don't care as long as there is a board.

phpBB 3.0.4 is the way to go for sure.
Be cauious of free hosting services... I've heard it can be difficult to properly administer a phpBB site via free hosting services.

We'll be switching, again, to a different board after this round of the playoffs is done, win or lose.
I'm in the process of testing a replacement that it far and above better than the previous board I had through the gostampede domain. It's phpBB3 and I've yet to run across any weird error messages coming up. Private messages go through without giving a failure message, there's a "shoutbox" feature which is kind of like a real time chat on the main forum page. All in all it's going to be a much better solution. Obviously everyone will have to re-register, but hopefully it will be a relatively seamless move. |
