Part of the problem was the fact that their was instant silence from the PA - nothing to keep the crowd in it. No music, no motivation from the announcer,
nothing.

Great job this week-end. Keep the ball rolling on Wednesday so we can put Lincoln behind us and work on putting SC behind us.
WTF was up with the music yesterday? It just gets worse and worse from game to game. At times I felt I was stuck in the middle of a Barney soundtrack and then the other times I felt I was stuck in a 70's/80's soundtrack. Whoever is in charge of the game music either needs to wake up or get out of there as they obviously have no idea what kind of music to play at a hockey game. |

Supposedly it's been a revolving door at the music desk this year. Of course when the person that actually started to get the music changed for the better
disappeared from the organization causing an immediate noticeable change for the worse, what can be expected.
It's starting to sound like a broken record but this organization can't seem to help tripping over themselves in screwing up any progress to make it more like a hockey environment. At least one in particular would rather listen to a small minority that complains about anything that may approach a true hockey crowd. Someone who can't wrap their mind around the fact that although it's 15-20 year olds on the ice, they're not your typical high school age kids. Someone who whines about how they shouldn't have people heckling at them, chanting at them or riding their a$$ when they screw up because of their age is missing it completely. 1st, are you paying $7-$45 per seat to watch the Flyers, Roughrider, Warriors, Patriots or Knights play? Didn't think so. 2nd, these kids are getting less pressure & chatter from the stands now in the Arena than they would be/had been playing at their Minnesota high school. 3rd, the pressure & fan criticism will be much higher at the level they're trying to get to. A lot of them have been away from home at least a couple years before they even come here, most are a few years ahead of their same aged peers in their maturity & responsibility. Some still can't tell time, but whatever. I think they can handle whatever we give them from the stands, both home team & visitors. Most of this is probably wasted typing anyway. The same 7 of us that post are usually on the same page with this stuff so no real discussion will end up taking place. Any lurkers are either in agreement as well or too scared to subject their views to a real exposing discussion & risk the chance of being shown their little tiny view is wrong. At least Panictime is on the same side of the fence on the subject of the boys are big enough to handle a little criticism. On a somewhat related note, based on the great promotion/entertainment coming up I can see someones infatuation with weiners just won't go away. |

New to the post, but have the same sentiments I have been reading for the past couple of months on this forum so thought I would join the die hards. Just
thought I would say a quick hello and be adding to posts in the future. As for the new set up they have at the arena, weak is the only word that comes to mind.
This is hockey, not polo. Loud music, loud fans, are the rule of thumb where i come from as long as it's not taken to the extreme of classless not
controlling your liquor behavior.

It would seem to me that the purpose of 2 fers is to generate $$. Gee I have already had my norm of 4 beers, but if I can get two more at half price each, then by golly I should have some more. Its the buffet phenomenon. Why not gorge myself on ribs, they are half price How do you generate money when most people work Thursday morning??? or I am completely wrong.... ![]()

it's the peeps that don't know how to control it that i was referring to. however, there is nothing wrong with being loud, cheering on the team and
letting ref's (like mayer on sunday) know what you think of their non-calls. Was it me, or was Mayer quite pro-Des Moines? buddy buddy with the players,
the coach of des moines....no penalties the until the 3rd called on des moines.....after hartzie had some words for him.....
