Second.
Get rid of this f-ing announcer. It seems like he's either too drunk or stoned to be able to figure out what the hell he's doing. Not once in all the years previous has any announcer forgot to announce all the players in the starting lineup like he did last Wednesday, is it too obvious to have a pen & check off the players as you announce them? Then rather than try to sweep it under the rug & let it go, he calls attention to his screw up & makes a big deal about announcing Grun in the Friday game.
He routinely screws up basic words during in game announcements and then announces tonight "Sioux Falls empty net". Great, thanks for pointing that out. Not probable, but what if TC wasn't aware of that & missed Hansen streaking in as the extra attacker? Not anymore. More probable, you now have most people looking down at the empty net you've just drawn attention to & the Stampede score the late game tying goal. Good job genius, half the people in the joint just missed their team scoring. At least the douche bag robot voice thing hasn't been heard in a while.
This may not be entirely on the announcers shoulders, but doing the starting lineups for the visitors while the clock is still counting down to start the 1st period is really kind of lame. And announcing the officials hometowns is really becoming about as stupid as it could get. Last week with Sioux City in town & Bob Batcheller is announced as being from Las Vegas drew numerous laughs from the SC fans in attendance & a "huh?" from those of us from SF that know he's from Sioux City. Previously all officials were announced as being from obscure towns in Alaska (Dutch Harbor, home port for the show "Deadliest Catch"), tonight Mr. Microphone thinks he's witty & comes up with hometowns to match their 1st names. Here's a thought, if you don't want people to know where they're really from or don't know where they're from, just omit the hometowns entirely for the officials. Half the time nobody cares where they're from, we just wish they'd go back & never return.
At least the music is getting better.
